At Melboro we aim to produce refined quality Sporthorses and Sportponies with excellent temperaments who are a pleasure to handle. We use quality stallions with superior conformation and ability from reknowned Warmblood bloodlines.

We strive to provide the Amateur rider with a quiet, versatile, affordable partner.

Our broodmares are carefully selected for their conformations but, most importantly, for their exceptional temperaments. The foals are handled from birth and grow up in an environment where they are taught respect for their human handlers as well as respect for their herd mates and this is reflected in every foal we raise.

Hilda has over 30 years' experience with horse and stable ownership and has a B.A. in Horsemanship, majoring in Stable Management and Breeding Management, from Virginia Intermont College, USA. After returning to Canada, she spent several years giving lessons on her own farm in the beautiful Eastern Townships of Quebec. The adventure of breeding horses began in 2003, with her wonderful mare, Spook (Rolls Silver Ghost), in the hopes of breeding the kind of horse she's always dreamed of riding. Although she began her riding career showing hunters, dressage has become her passion and her selection of superior dressage stallions for her mares reflects this.
